Something thoroughly rare and unexpected happened at the International UFO Congress (IUFOC) on Wednesday night, when what was otherwise a cocktail party quickly turned into a wedding. Respected UFO TV show host Ted Loman and Brenda Williams tied the knot in an impromptu fashion before hundreds of surprised partygoers. But the merrymakers weren.t the only ones who were stunned: Williams, herself, had no idea that Loman would call her up on stage, propose to her, and within 30 minutes exchange vows. Loman was escorted to the conference room stage as if he were to be .roasted. by colleagues. The producer of TV show Off the Record was expected to sit back and watch a home movie from his childhood; Williams was asked by Loman.s friends to make a movie that would poke fun at him. But the joke was on Williams. Loman wasted no time in asking his girlfriend of five years to join him on stage, then bent down on one knee, and asked her to marry. Williams accepted, and was then directed to don a wedding dress picked out by her family. .This is the longest and biggest secret ever kept in the UFO community,. Loman told an adoring audience, explaining that he conspired with Williams.s family and friends to choose who she.d like to attend the wedding and what arrangements she.d prefer. .I left it up to the universe to make sure everything would be okay,. Loman added. While Williams was changing into her wedding gown, his girlfriend.s spoof video was viewed; a young Loman, according to the film, was assigned to prepare for the arrival of Pigmedians from the planet Swinetorus. This was followed by friends of Loman taking the spotlight and lavishing praise upon their friend. 'UFO lawyer' Peter Gersten remarked, .Ted and I go back many, many, many lifetimes.. He expressed esteem for his friend.s ability to weather intense challenges, as well. Loman was blinded a decade ago in a work-related accident, and has since endured eight failed eye transplants, but he has maintained a constructive attitude. AlienZoo Resident Ufologist Jim Dilettoso lauded Loman.s ability to gather a high quality of information from his TV interviews. Filmmaker Larry Giometti revealed that Loman was .one of the greatest guys I.ve ever met in my life.. Loman's show Off the Record is broadcast on public-access TV in three dozen U.S. cities.
