Does China play a role in the disarmament of America?Expensive new tungsten bullets must come from somewhere. Guess where? 4/13/2000
The View from Marrs by Jim Marrs challenges bureaucratic secrecy and the status quo. Big Media watch out!
Does it make any sense for America to become totally dependent for both military and civilian ammunition on a nation whose military leaders are talking seriously about war with the United States?
Only if one looks at current events from the perspective of New World Order chiefs who now see profit in a long-range strategic move to disarm American civilians.
After the revelations of influence peddling within the Clinton Administration in past years, many people thought President Clinton.s characterization of China as a "strategic partner" meant bestowing .most preferred nation. status on the Asian giant in return for campaign contributions.
However, recent revelations - the full ramification of which has been reported little by the mainstream media - present a more ominous scenario.
Several publications revealed that the Defense Department is replacing the lead in its bullets with tungsten. The program has been reported as a move to lessen the environmental hazard of lead contamination at military shooting ranges and future battlefields.
.The green ammo program uses tungsten and other materials, primarily nylon, in the projectile,. explained Bob Whistine of the U. S. Army.s Industrial Operations Command at the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois, where some 100,000 rounds of tungsten bullets are currently being tested. According to the
Los Angeles Times, tungsten ammunition has been perfected for the 5.56-millimeter bullets required by the standard Army M-16 rifle but more engineering work may be required for larger weapons, such as 7.62 mm and .50-caliber rifles and machine guns.
The problem with this new non-lead ammunition is that tungsten can only be melted by the intense heat generated by expensive oxy-acetylene torches as opposed to the relatively low temperature needed to melt plain old lead. This, of course, would make the new tungsten bullets much more expensive as tungsten currently sells for about $2.70 a pound while lead is about 21 cents per pound.
But, here.s the clincher: the quantities of tungsten required to produce ammunition for our army can only be found in China.
While the United States produces all its own lead, a 1997 U. S. Geological Survey report stated that the nation bought 85 percent of its tungsten from foreign suppliers, the leader of which is mainland China.
Although no orders have yet been made, already there are reports that the new tungsten bullets might be partially produced at the J. J. Ammo plant located in Long Beach, CA. The giant bullet manufacturer makes ammunition for the M-16 rifle as well as providing materials to reloading suppliers. It also reportedly employs workers from mainland China. The firm was to have been part of a large commercial park constructed on the site of Long Beach naval facilities which the Clinton Administration planned to lease to Cosco, a state-owned Chinese shipping concern until the plans were put on hold following widespread criticism.
Jim Rarey, an Illinois free lance investigative reporter and former newspaper editor, wrote, .While Clinton prattles about China as a strategic partner, that country s top military leader has announced that war between China and the U.S. is inevitable. Plans are being made by China.s military for a protracted conflict, two or three years in duration. To make our military dependent on China for ammunition may sound to some as pure insanity or even treason..
But Rarey and others see a shrewd plan in the making. The expensive new tungsten bullets initially would only be available to the military and perhaps some big city police SWAT teams. Once these elements have converted to tungsten ammunition, there will be a major media blitz about the environmental danger of lead added to the ongoing anti-gun agenda by the mass media.
.A merging of the gun control fanatics with the environmental wackos, although a small minority in the country, will be given disproportionate coverage by the kept media and Congress may not be able to withstand the barrage,. predicted Rarey, adding, .Even if Congress does not knuckle under, the threat of lawsuits from the federal, state and city governments - which was so successful with Smith & Wesson on trigger locks - could shut down the civilian ammunition industry, especially if they are offered lucrative government contracts to produce the tungsten rounds..
Already cities such as Chicago and Los Angeles are considering the banning of all ammunition. With the added aspect of environmental harm, public officials well might be stampeded into action without thinking through the consequences. Laws against both the manufacture and use of lead bullets would be enacted with the best of intentions. But with the expense and control of tungsten, most Americans would soon own bullet-free weapons. With the only legal ammunition in the hands of the government, the New World Order anti-gun agenda would be fulfilled. After all, a firearm without ammunition is just another useless chunk of metal.
In another area of the ammunition story, the U.S. military has quietly announced plans to discontinue its use of so-called .depleted. uranium for use in artillery and heavy tank shells.
While small amounts of uranium in anti-tank guns proved very effective against Iraqi armor during the Gulf War, many researchers concluded that the combined effect of such shells littering the battlefield contributed to the illness of many American soldiers known as Gulf War Syndrome.
Little of this subject has been reported in the major media. But then I guess what you don.t know, can.t hurt you - or can it?
